Annotation

This copy’s runout groove etchings:

Side 1 (stamped): TML-S
Side 1 (hand-etched): p ZSS-164424-1D
Side 2 (stamped): TML-S
Side 2 (hand-etched): p ZSS-164425-1D

“TML‐S” on the runout groove indicates that the lacquer was cut at The Mastering Lab in Los Angeles, CA and that the slave (“S”) lathe was used. The (very faint) “p” code on the runout groove indicates that the record was pressed at Columbia Records Pressing Plant in Pitman, NJ. The “ZSS” prefix on the runout groove (and on the labels) is Columbia Records’ code for 7″ single stereo 45 rpm.

Taken From The Columbia Lp: “DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN” JC 35318
